This project was a collaborative effort undertaken in the context of our Social Enterprise course. Our brief was to create a social enterprise business to benefit a specific target group, in this case, the homeless community. In our brainstorming sessions, we explored various business opportunities and focused on tailoring our services to meet the needs of this unique demographic.
Our group adopted the name 'Blank Canvas,' and collectively, we conceptualized an innovative business venture—an art gallery dedicated to showcasing the work of homeless artists. Leveraging our diverse academic backgrounds, we divided responsibilities effectively. In my role as the sole interior designer within the team, I undertook the task of designing the art gallery.
Blank Canvas operates as a certified B Corp business.
The Art Gallery is comprised of the following elements: upon entering, visitors encounter a sculpture, with the reception area to the left. Moving further, there are art classes catering to all age groups. Along the walls, various art forms are on display, including poems, paintings, and written works, among others.
Each piece of artwork is adorned with a distinctive red heart sticker bearing the message, 'Every purchase supports an artist.'
